old wall of inspiration

oldwallatbrooksstThis was my wall at my old apartment on Brook St.  I crave having a wall like this again.  I should just do it.  It just puts a bunch of holes in the walls, and landlords hate that.

BISKA

I made this in 2009.  I thought it was awesome.  It is a black and white photocopy on cardstock, and then stamped with rubber stamps and red ink.  I thought it was such a cool thing that I made like 10 of them.  And of course, no one else has liked them.  I don’t think I have sold a single one in all these years.  Weird.  But that is part of learning the difference between art you like, and art that sell.

If you would like to buy one (ha).  here is the etsy link.

So We’re One

unravellingThis isn’t the best picture.  I took like a thousand.  I think it really needs outside light, and it was on the VonCommon walls.  Anyway, this piece had many variations, and I just kept hating it, and then I painted it black.  And then I cried.  And so I don’t know if it is my best piece ever, but it is full of emotion.

The words are by Skye Steele.   Here is a Youtube video of him performing it.

Oh and the point.  Tonight is Missoula NOW.  An art show of Missoula’s best.  It is from 6-10 at VonCommon, 1909 Wyoming.  And this piece of art will be there right next to a really cool felted boars head.

I love my life.

zinepage2007

This is a spread from my zine back a thousand years ago.  No wait, just seven and a half years ago.  This was when I was living in Portland, but was just about to move to LA.  Six months later I was back in Missoula and falling in love with Aaron.

I still publish my zine every month.  You can subscribe here.
