Another piece of art that will hopefully be in my art show on Friday.  Just gotta frame it in time.  will it happen?  who knows.

So I was walking around Missoula yesterday, putting flyers in places flyers go.  I ran into so many people I know and love.  It was really nice.  I was promoting this show, “There is Always More Paper.”  After handing an acquaintance my flyer I realized how terrible it sounds.  ”There is always more paper, just let me kill some more trees.”  Which of course is not how I meant it.  Here is what I wrote about it:

“In this show ladypajama celebrates a common theme in her art. Instead of trying to create a certain image, she instead sits down to make art with no real destination and just lets herself go. In doing this she lets herself create whats in her soul. And the belief is that if it sucks she can just get another piece of paper.”

Also I want every one to know that I do not waste paper.  Every piece that doesn’t turn out goes into a box that I use to collage other art out of.  Sometimes I just paint white over whatever I do not like and then try again.

Anyway, if you are in Missoula come to my show on first friday.  It is one night only!!!

So ten years ago I moved to Albuquerque and started publishing my zine.  The year before I met a girl who published a “weekly” zine.  I put it in quotations because she really didn’t seem to put it out weekly, more like every 10 days to two weeks.  I was really inspired by how she did it, and was totally like, “I could do that.”  So I started a weekly zine I called “ladypajama is _______.”  Each issue I filled in the blank.  Six months later I changed the name to Blah Blah Blah and started doing it Biweekly (once every two weeks).   And like, three years later I started doing it monthly.

When I started it, I never thought I would still be doing it 10 years later.  To be honest I am kinda in shock that it has been ten years.   I plan to keep doing it because it keeps me going and keeps me creative.  Although sometimes I feel like I fall in a depth of blahing completely fitting the name.

But, I have a goal, and that is to make a comp book.  I will be going through all my zines and picking 30 issues to compile into a book.  Then of course the hard part will be scanning all the pages and laying the book out.

This is my new xmas card design.  I think it is funny.  I will be selling these and a bunch of other stuff at the VonCommon this weekend.

Let me give you the details:
Where: VonCommon – Our new space, one building over from our old space. The new address is 100 Johnson #7.
When: December 5th and 6th from 12-6pm.
Why: To do all your xmas shopping.  Also we will be merry making the whole time.  So feel free to just stop by to have a drink and hang out.
How: slowly and confidently.

Oh man, it is the season to start scrambling to make xmas cards and merch for Holiday sales.  I really need to figure out a way to send myself an email or set an alarm or something that arrives in September, and it would say, “Start getting ready for xmas NOW!!!!”

Because starting in November is really never enough time.

Anyway, I got a bunch of stuff happening. If you live in Missoula I hope you can check them all out.

1.  I have two pieces in a show at the radius gallery.  It is open all month.

2.  Voncommon is doing our Art Blizzard which is basically a little hip art market in our warehouse space. Here is the FB event.

3. MADEfair happens on Dec 12th at the Adams Center.

I will be drawing portraits at the Art Blizzard and the MADEfair if you are into that sort of thing.

And I am working on a xmas card design who’s main selling point is using the f-word.

Oh I better put a picture in here or it will be boring right….. this is one of the pieces at the radius.

Hey guys!!!  I am going to have an art show on September 4th.  It will be at Butterfly Herbs here in Missoula.  It will be up all month, so check it!!!!

This Guy will be in the art show.

And so will this guys.   These two guys I made prints of.  11×17  and only $20.  I will have them at my art show, so bring some cash and bring them home.  All my friend that are out of state, let me know, and we can figure how much they would cost to ship.

Did most of this while having a visual migraine.  woohooo.  So I used a doily as a stencil.  And then drew with oil paint sticks.  This is just part of a bigger mural downtown Missoula.  In the alley next to the Catalyst.
